Laney Ezzell works in our Real Estate office as our Real Estate Attorney. Laney grew up in Spring Hope, North Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree in 2019 with honors, Magna Cum Laude, from East Carolina University where she double majored in Criminal Justice and Political Science. While in undergrad school she was in Epilson Sigma Alpha, a community service sorority, that raises money St. Jude’s Research Hospital. In her senior year, she served as the President of the Thomas Harriott College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Student Leadership Board representing the criminal justice department. Along with her other extra curriculars, she also became a student athlete tutor and worked at the local animal shelter on the weekends while at East Carolina.
Following undergrad, Laney received a full ride scholarship to North Carolina Central University School of Law. During law school she received the Book Award in Civil Procedure for having the highest scores in her section. She was a staff and senior editor of the North Carolina Central Law Review. For two years in law school, she was part of NCCU Women’s Law Caucus and served as Vice President of the Animal Legal Defense Fund. Laney graduated from NCCU School of Law in 2022 with honors, Magna Cum Laude.
After graduating from law school and passing the Bar, Laney started working in a small private firm. She has experience in civil litigation, real estate, landlord/tenant and estate planning.
On her free time, Laney enjoys spending time with family, friends, and going to concerts. She also loves spending time outdoors with her boyfriend and yorkipoo, Lela.
